Our vision is to become one of the leading research-driven Graduate Business Schools in the region, on the basis of academic excellence in research and teaching and its impact on the business world, and become a hub of outstanding faculty and students from all over the world.
This is the spirit in which we pursue our transformative, Business Unusual, mission as stated above.
We apply this principle to all the challenges facing the businesses and society today, in Greece and beyond. In the face of economic, social, technological, political and environmental disruptions, we maintain the highest ethical and quality standards while seeking innovations that will transform everything else.
Business Unusual is the Alba DNA. A mindset, a way of thinking and working in business, a way of living in society. We invite all those who share or wish to partake in this mentality to join us.
Alba was founded in 1992, through a joint initiative of the Federation of Greek Industries (ΣΕΒ), the leading Employers' Union in Greece, and the Hellenic Management Association (ΕΕΔΕ); both the preparation for the creation of Alba and its operations until the end of 1993 were funded by the European Commission and by contributions offered by Alba’s Corporate Members.
In February 1995, the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ΕΒΕΑ) joined the Federation of Greek Industries and the Hellenic Management Association to become the third collective body of Greek businesses to support Alba.
Since 2017, Alba Graduate Business School operates within The American College of Greece (ACG) as the Graduate Business School of ACG.Europe’s largest and most historic American college and Greece’s most prestigious graduate business school combined their strengths to pursue an ambitious growth strategy by further consolidating their leadership positions. By joining forces, the two institutions also become more competitive internationally and contribute to making Greece an international educational destination.
As the Graduate Business School of the American College of Greece, Alba Graduate Business School, continues offering its portfolio of MBA, business related MSc programs and Executive Education and pursues all other related services in serving the academic and business community. . ACG continues to offer undergraduate programs in business and the liberal arts and sciences, as well as graduate programs in the arts and sciences through DEREE.
Alba retains all of its accreditations, including NECHE, AMBA and EFMD/EPAS.
The ACG and Alba forms one of the largest and certainly the most influential alumni community in Greece, numbering some 55,800 professionals who are active in thousands of businesses and organizations, as well as in academia and public affairs, many of them in leadership positions, in Greece and abroad.
Alba was established as a not-for-profit educational association of organizations of Greek corporations/employers and individual corporations. Today, 72 companies are corporate members.
It operated outside the Greek formal (state) educational system as a Laboratory of Liberal Studies (Εργαστήριο Ελευθέρων Σπουδών). In 2009 ALBA was established as Alba College of Business Administration according to the Law 3696/2008. After 2017, Alba Graduate Business School operates within the American College of Greece.
Its operations are funded by tuition and fees, contributions by employers' organizations and by corporate and individual donations.
